even though i knew that my grandmother was going to pass away soon, i am not ready for it now that it has actually happened. i went to see her this morning at the hospital and she looked so small and so old. she had no makeup on and her hair was not done up in it's usual french twist. It was terrible to see her labored breathing and i can only imagine how my mother and uncle felt watching their mom like that.
it's hard to believe that i will never see her again. i remember that when i was a kid i thought of her as my best friend. my grandma always encouraged all of us grand kids in everything that we did. She was always very involved in our lives and always made time for us. She was always there.
Even though i have been seeing her a lot more over the past two years or so that she has been living at my parents' house, i wish that i would have spent more time with her.
i will miss her very much.
